The Beach Boys- Pet Sounds (1966)

The Beach Boys are, by some, widely admired for their songwriting and creativity, and others are completely unaware of what they have done for music, what they accomplished or they just think of the fact that a douche bag from Full House wanted to be their drummer.  If you fall into the latter category, then please go read something else on the internet, but it you are in the group that agrees, then you can read if you like, but I doubt you will hear anything new.

Pet Sounds is one of the quintessential albums in modern rock n' roll.  Not only is it well written lyrically, the composition was ahead of it's time for the era in which it was released.  Some of the tracks are from the famous Smile album, and others are only found on this release.  Not only do you get songs that will play to your emotional side, you will also get to hear numerous animal sounds, and a song telling you why it's important to eat your vegetables.

16 tracks are on this release, and all of them, I mean all of them, are at this point, timeless classics.  Being nearly a 60 yr old release, more and more people will continue to love this album once they get turned on to it, or they discover this from the archives of musical greatness.

I really don't feel a need to go into depth when describing this album or reasons why you should find it, listen to it, then fall in love with it.  All in all, this is one of those albums that you must own.  (emphasis on Must)

Official Score- 5/5, 5 gold stars, whatever you want to call it, it's bad ass!!!
